Broseley Outside Cafe

A small group sang West Gallery Carols outside Mikey's Cafe Broseley for 1 hour on the evening of the 22nd December.

3 Sopranos, 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 2 Bass. Bryan led us and sang either Tenor or Bass.

There was a large audience, the Cafe owner served hot mulled wine during the interval, a great evening.

The Cafe owner says this is now an annual event and he felt it was so good that next year he guarantees 100 in the audience. He may be right, watch this space.

Benthall Hall Church National Trust

The NT are running a series of events in the Church at Benthall Hall. This was an afternoon concert which filled the church, even though it was billed with a foot note 'No heating, wrap up as though you outside' Believe me you needed to.

The Quire was in fine voice and instrumentalists in great performance mode. A concert of West Gallery Carols, most enjoyed.

 Getting ready.

The Audience starts to arrive.

The Village Band from the West Gallery.

The Quire from the West Gallery.

At the interval warm drinks and festive nibbles were served.
A big thanks to those who organised the event.

Cardeston

On a cold December Saturday the Quire performed at Cardeston a small Hamlet in Shropshire. This church still retains the West Gallery although we were not able to make use of it. There is also a Barrell Organ.

The Quire were greeted with warm soup and rolls on arrival, dessert and fine cakes. During the interval Mulled Wine and more fine cakes were served. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

The paths to the church were lined with real candles in jars to light our way, creating a lovely atmosphere.

 Lighting the way

Quire Members Gathering before the performance

Time for a natter. Note the West Gallery.

Christmas at Hadnall

A joyful Christmas Performance at this fine old Church. The evening was well organised and there was a full church. One of the quires newest members took on the challenge of demonstrating the Serpent which he did brilliantly.

A fine spread of Food was provided after the performance for Quire members and the audience.

A good start to our Christmas Performances, thank you the good people of Hadnall.
